Cobbers Cap Best Season With Win over Moorhead State 

11/2/96 

The Cobbers beat Moorhead State here today 2-1 in overtime to wrap up an 11-6-1 season, women's soccer's best ever. Tina Myren put in the game winner in overtime to give the Cobbers the win over the Division II Dragons, the Northern Sun Conference champions.

Angie Tohm scored the Cobbers' first goal and Amy Gentz   had another fine day in goal with 15 saves.

The Cobbers finished 4-5-1 in the MIAC

The Cobbers capped their MIAC season with a 5-0 win over Hamline here today. Concordia ended 4-5-1 in the MIAC 10-6-1. Cobber Angie Tohm tied a Cobber record by assisting on all five Cobber goals. Allison Daehlin scored Concordia's first two goals.

10/22/96

The Cobbers beat St. Mary's in Winona 1-0 today on a goal by Angie Tohm. The win raised the Cobbers' record to 9-6-1, 3-5-1 in the MIAC. The Cobbers' 9 wins is the third highest win total in Cobber history. 

10/20/96

The Cobbers beat Division II Winona State 2-1 today in Winona to run their season record to 8-6-1. Allison Smith had both goals for the Cobbers.

10/18/96

The Cobber women lost 5-0 at St. Thomas toady. Amy Gentz had 13 saves for the Cobbers in goal.

10/12/96

The Cobbers picked up a 3-1 MIAC win over Bethel here today to run their MIAC record to 2-4-1, 7-5-1 overall. Tina Myren scored for the Cobbers just 4 minutes into the game. Angie Tohm followed 15 minutes later and Jessica Sauer made it 3-0 at the 58 minute mark.

The Cobbers lost 1-0 to St. Olaf today, Falling to 1-4-1 in the MIAC.

The Cobbers tied Augsburg 3-3 at Concordia today, moving their MIAC record to 1-3-1 and their overall record to 6-4-1. 

10/2/96
Concordia beat Bemidji State 11-0 today to move to 6-4 on the season.

9/28/96
The Cobbers beat Jamestown College 8-0 today in Moorhead. The win raised the Cobber record to 5-4. 

9/24/96
The Cobbers fell 5-0 today to Nationally Ranked Macalester at the Cobber field. 

9/22/96
The Cobbers beat Martin Luther today 9-0, led by Angie Tohm's 3 goals. Concordia is now 4-3 overall, 1-2 in the MIAC.

The Cobbers lost 4-0 at Gustavus today to fall to 1-2 in the MIAC, 3-3 overall.

9/18/96 Cobbers Beat Carleton Here 2-0

The Cobber women ran their record to 3-2, 1-1 in the MIAC with a 2-0 win over Carleton today in Concordia's home opener. Allison Smith scored first at 83:56 on an assist from Tina Myren. Kelly Morehead followed up at the 88:59 mark with an assist from Smith. Amy Gentz recorded her third shutout of the year with 10 saves. (See Box Score)

9/15/96 Cobbers Win at Concordia St. Paul 8-0
Concordia improved its record to 2-2 with a 8-0 win at Concordia-St. Paul Sunday.  Allison Smith scored 3 goals for the Cobbers and Angela Tohm had 2.

The Cobbers lost 1-0 at NDSU today. The Bison scored their lone goal late in the first half.  Concordia's Amy Gentz and NDSU's Margaret Palo each had five saves in goal. The Cobbers fall to 1-2 on the year. 

9/7/96
Concordia lost its MIAC opener 6-2 at St. Ben's today to go to 1-1 on the season. Jessica Sauer scored both Cobber goals, one solo and one on an assist from Britt Nielsen.

August 31, 1996
All-MIAC senior Angela Tohm scored the winning goal for the Cobbers in their 1-0 season opening win at Briar Cliff on August 31. Britt Nielsen assisted on the goal. Cobber goalie Amy Gentz   stopped 9 shots to record the shutout. The Cobbers out-shot Briar Cliff 32-13. Kari Eissinger led the Cobber defense with 8 steals and 6 interceptions.
