5/21 Liz Meschke Named Third Team All-American.

Pine River, Minn. Was named to the NGCA All-American Third Team.

Concordia standout golfer Liz Meschke (So., Pine River, Minn.) was named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American third team. It is the first time that Meschke has earned all-american honors.

Meschke earned the award by finishing 15th at the NCAA Division III National Meet with a final total of 337 (86-85-83-82). It was the highest finish for Meschke in a national meet, and finishes off a season that saw her finish second at the MIAC conference tournament. She finished the year with an average score of 82.7, which was tops on the team and the fifth lowest season average in school history. 

5/17 Meschke Finishes 15th at the NCAA DIII National Tournament.
Liz Meschke (So., Pine River, Minn.) saved her best for last, shooting a final round 82, and finished in 15th place at the NCAA Division III tournament at The Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Her final total of 337 (86-85-83-82) was 25 shots behind meet champion Lynn Thompson of Thomas More (KY). 

It is the highest finish at the national meet for Meschke. Last year she finished tied for 40th with a four round total of 333. 

Gustavus senior Alicia Golembeski was the medalist among MIAC golfers. Golembeski shot an 80 in the last round and finished tied for fourth. MIAC champion St. Thomas finished in ninth place in the team competition.

5/06 Liz Meschke Selected to Participate in NCAA Tournament.
Concordia sophomore golfer Liz Meschke (Pine River, Minn.) has been selected to participate in the NCAA Division III National Golf Tournament. The championship will be held on May 14-17 at The Orchards Golf Club on the campus of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

It is the second straight year that Meschke will participate in the tournament. Last year she helped Concordia finish second as a team, and finished tied for 40th. This past fall she never finished lower than fifth in any tournament she competed, and capped the season by finishing second at the MIAC Championships. 

Meschke will finish off a busy spring season at the national tournament. Last weekend she helped the Cobbers women's tennis team at the MIAC tournament. She has been splitting her time in the spring with both the tennis and golf teams. She finished her tennis leg of the season with a 7-6 record at #4 singles. She lost in the semi-finals of the conference tournament.

8/27 Women's Golf Information Meeting Set for Wed., August 29th. 
Anyone interested in competing in women's golf should attend the informational meeting on Wednesday, August, 29th at 6:30 pm at coach Duane Siverson's office located on the south side of Memorial Auditorium. You can reach coach Siverson at 299-4160 or e-mail at: dsiverso@cord.edu if you have a conflict or would like to set up a practice round.
