Volleyball Takes 3rd in MIAC

The Cobber volleyball team went 8-3 in the MIAC regular season, finished 3rd at the MIAC Tournament, and  ended up one game away from advancing to the NCAA Tournament for a third consecutive year. 

All-MIAC hitters Laura Reitmeier (í99 Fisher) and Anne Larson (í00 Fargo) led the Cobber attack, with help from 2nd team All-MIAC setter Nicole Vetter (í00 West Fargo). Reitmeier also earned All-Region honors for the second consecutive year. 

Reitmeier and Larson led a group of  six Cobbers who earned Academic All-MIAC honors, including: 
Karla Anderson ('99 Blaine), Laurie Flick ('99 West Fargo), Camille Graven ('99 Marshall) and Eva Ladenburger ('00 Mc Henry, IL).

12/1 Cobbers Earn Fall Academic All-MIAC Honors 

11/19 Laura Reitmeier   Named All-Region again. 

11/8 Cobbers finish 3rd in MIAC Tournament and 3rd in final MIAC Standings. 
Concordia lost in five games to St. Olaf today in the MIAC Tournament semifinals and then came back to beat St. Thomas to claim 3rd in the MIAC tournament and third in the MIAC final season standings. 

St. Ben's captured the MIAC title with a win over St. Olaf. 

11/8 Concordia's Anne Larson  and Laura Reitmeier  were named to the All-MIAC First Team and Nicole Vetter  was named All-MIAC Second Team 

11/7 MIAC Tourney Match Results  Cobbers Beat Augsburg to advance to Semifinals against St. Olaf at 1:00 Sat. St. Ben's and St. Thomas in other semifinal.

11/1 Cobbers beat UW-Eau Claire, Nation's No. 3 team 
Concordia improved their case for a high regional ranking today with a 5-game win over the nation's No. 3 ranked team, UW-Eau  Claire. The win came at the UW-River Falls Invitational. Concordia then missed a chance to tie host River Falls' 4-0 Tourney record when they lost to UM-Crookson, a match that also went five games. (That match began ten minutes after the Eau Claire match ended.)

Concordia's Anne Larson  and Laura Reitmeier  were named to the All Tournament Team. 
 

11/1 Cobbers earn second seed at MIAC Tournament . 
Concordia has the second seed at the MIAC tournament which begins at St. Ben's Nov. 7. The Cobbers have a bye in the first round, which begins at 5:00 Friday. The Cobbers will play at 7:30 against the winner of the Hamline-Augsburg first round match. If Concordia wins they will play the winner of St. Olaf vs the Bethel-St. Kate's winner. If the Cobbers win that match they will be in the finals. 

10/31 Cobbers win twice at UW-River Falls Tourney, 3-0 over Stout and 3-0 over Gustavus

10/29/97 Cobber lose 3-0 at St. Ben's, Finish 2nd in MIAC regular season at 8-3. Game scores were 15-12 15-10 15-11. 
The Cobbers have completed their MIAC regular season and  finished tied for second with their 8-3 record. 

The MIAC regular season represents one half of the MIAC title hunt. The MIAC tournament Nov. 7-8 is the other half. 

A first or second place finish at the MIAC tournament could get the Cobbers one of the six Central Region NCAA Tournament bids, even though the Cobbers are not currently ranked in the top 8 of the region
 
10/24 Cobbers  Beat Augsburg  3-2 at UMC October Classic.  Concordia topped Augsburg 3-2 in Crookston tonight in the UM-Crookston "October Classic. "  Game scores were  9-15  15-4 15-13  14-16 15-11. In other tournament action U of Mary defeated UMC 3-0.  Games scores were 15-10, 15-6, 15-11. 

10/23 Cobbers Beat Augsburg here 3-1,  14-16, 15-5, 15-5, 15-12 

10/21 Cobbers lose 3-0 at Moorhead State  See Box Score 

10/18 Cobbers beat St. Olaf 3-0, (15-13, 15-7, 15-10) 
See Box Score Concordia moved into second place in the MIAC today after beating St. Olaf. St. Olaf lost to St. Ben's on Friday night and Gustavus picked up their third loss at St. Ben's today. 

10/17 Cobbers fall 3-1 to Gustavus here, 12-15, 12-15, 15-5, 12-15 See Box Score  

10/14 Cobbers  win 3-0 at Hamline, Now 6-1 in MIAC. Scores were 15-11, 15-6 and 15-13. Laura Reitmeier had 14 kills and seven blocks to lead the Cobbers.

Concordia hosts Gustavus Friday, Oct 17 at 7:00 and defending MIAC champion St. Olaf Saturday at 3:00. 

10/8 Cobbers beat Bethel 3-1, 16-14, 15-9, 12-15, 17-15. Cobbers now 5-1 in MIAC. See box score 

10/4 Concordia won 3-1 at St. Mary's in Winona this afternoon to up their MIAC record to 4-1. Game scores were 15-8 11-15 15-9 15-7. See Match Story See box score 

Next up for the Cobbers is a home date Wed. Oct. 8 against Bethel. The JV Match  begins at 5:00 and the Varsity at 7:00. 

10/3 Cobbers win 3-0 at Carleton, 15-7 15-4 15-9. Cobbers  now 3-1 in MIAC.  

10/1 Cobbers lose to St. Thomas here 15-11 15-5 9-15 15-7. Concordia fell to 5-7 on the year, 2-1 in the MIAC. 

9/27 Cobbers drop two at St. Ben's Tourney today 
Concordia lost two matches today at the St. Ben's Triangular. Concordia fell to Wartburg 3-1 (15-6 15-2 13-15 15-2) and then lost to St. Ben's 3-1 (15-8 15-13 13-15 15-11). The Cobbers are now  5-6 overall, 2-0 in the MIAC. 

9/24 Cobbers Win at St. Kate's 15-11, 15-11, 15-4 (See Box Score

9/20 Cobbers Split again, End Nebraska Tourney 2-2 
Concordia won over Dana today 15-2, 15-5, 15-7 and then lost to host Nebraska Wesleyan  18-16, 12-15, 15-1, 15-4 to end their tournament with a 2-2 record. Dana Box Score | Wesleyan Box Score 

The Cobbers resume MIAC play this week when they travel to St. Katherine on Wednesday for a 7:30 match. Concordia is now 4-4 overall, 1-0 in the MIAC

9/19 Cobbers split in first day at Nebraska Wesleyan Tourney  
Concordia dropped their opener to Central of Iowa today at the Nebraska Wesleyan tournament. They came back in the second game to beat Coe. Tournament action continues Saturday. Central Box Score | Coe Box Score 

The Cobbers fell to Central 15-5 15-5 15-2. Central came into the tournament as the region's No. 3 ranked team. The Cobbers were 5th. 

Concordia came back to beat Coe 15-8 15-9 15-9. The Cobbers are now 3-3 on the year
