Concordia ESPN The Magazine District V At-Large Team Recap

Emily Hall Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team Honors!
Concordia senior diver Emily Hall (Minot, N.D.) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V At-Large Second Team. She is the first Concordia swimming and diving athlete to earn the prestigious award that is voted on by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

The honor is given to athletes in the College Division of the Academic All-American award. The College Division includes players from Division II, III and NAIA from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana schools. Sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to be nominated. The at-large team is made up of athletes that participate in bowling, golf, rifle, crew, gymnastics, skiing, water polo, fencing, ice hockey, swimming and diving, wrestling, field hockey, lacrosse and tennis.

Hall was one of 60 athletes nominated for the 22 spots for the district award.

Hall became the second Concordia women's swimming and diving athlete to earn All-American honors when she finished fifth in the 1-meter diving competition at the NCAA Division III National Swimming and Diving Meet in March. She also earned All-American Honorable Mention honors in the 3-meter event.

Hall earned MIAC Co-Diver of the Year in 2005 honors for her outstanding performance at the MIAC Championship Meet. She won the 1-meter and finished second in the 3-meter event. Hall's score of 252.80 in the finals of the 1-meter event broke the school record. Hall was also named the MIAC Diver of the Year in 2003.

Hall carried a 3.60 grade point average, while majoring in Biology and earning a minor in chemistry.

She graduated Cum Laude and was a member of the Dean's List. She was also a member of the Tri-Beta national honor society for Biology and a member of the Alpha Society (highest academic honor society) at Concordia.
