Hall and Cullen Come Up Just Short in 3-Meter Competition!
HOLLAND, Mich.-- Both of Concordia's divers that earned their way to the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving National Championship Meet held at Hope College in Holland, Mich. failed to qualify for the finals in the 3-meter competition on Saturday. Emily Hall (Sr., Minot, N.D.) and Annie Cullen both cam up short in the preliminary rounds of competition and did not reach the final in the event.

Hall, who finished fifth in the 1-meter event on Thursday, scored 362.0 points in the preliminaries and missed the eight-diver finals by 14.45 points. Her total score placed her 14th in the event, which earns her All-American honorable mention honors. She is now the first swimming and diving athlete to earn two All-American honors at a single championship meet. Shana Letness, the only other Cobber athlete to earn All-American honors, earned single All-American honorable mention status in the 1999 and 2001 meets.

Cullen finished the preliminary round with a final score of 330.5 and finished 20th. She also finished 20th in the 1-meter competition.

Hall Finishes Fifth to Become Second Cobber All-American!
HOLLAND, Mich.-- Emily Hall (Sr., Minot, N.D.) finished fifth in the 1-meter diving competition at the NCAA Division III National Swimming and Diving Meet held at Hope College in Holland, Mich. to become the second Concordia All-American in the history of the program. She joins Shana Letnes, who was an All-American in the breaststroke in 1999 and 2001, as the only Cobbers to place at the NCAA Division III National Meet.

Hall's fifth-place finish is the highest place for any Cobber athlete at nationals.

Hall scored a total of 372.00 points in the final round of competition, which was only 6.80 points behind national champion Tessa Truex of Middlebury. Hall scored 369.50 points in the preliminaries to qualify as one of the eight finalists.

Annie Cullen (Jr., Moorhead, Minn.), the other Concordia diver to qualify for the national meet, scored 288.50 points in the prelims and failed to qualify for the finals.

Both divers will compete in the 3-meter competition on Saturday, March 12.

Hall won the 1-meter and finished second in the 3-meter event. Hallís score of 252.80 in the finals of the 1-meter event broke the school record.
