Scored the tying and winning goal in Concordia's 5-4 overtime victory over St. Kate's

1/20 Concordia Wins Overtime Thriller with St. Kate's 5-4.
Concordia came from behind, and scored a goal with 12 seconds left in overtime to beat St. Kate's 5-4. The Cobbers, who took a 2-1 lead into the third period, needed a game-tying goal with just over two minutes to play in regulation to send it into the extra period. Sophomore Katie Jacques (Tempe, AZ) provided the heroics for Concordia as she netted both the equalizer and the game-winner.

St. Kate's scored the first goal of the game before Concordia answered with two of their own before the end of the first period. Annie Knierim (So., Glasgow, MT)  and
Lindsay Kurtis (Fr., Phoenix, AZ)  scored the Cobber goals, both on the power play. After playing a scoreless second period the teams opened up their offensive output and combined for five third period goals. The Wildcats went ahead at the 12:30 mark before Jacques could answer as time was winding down. That set the stage for in overtime for the Arizona connection as Jacques took a pass from Kurtis and beat St. Kate's goalie Kendra Maxson for the thrilling win. Jacques finished the game with two goals and an assist. Kurtis tallied a goal and three assists, and defenseman Sandra Johansson (Jr., Jonstorp, Sweden) added three assists. Cobber netminder Shyla Wilson (So., Cohasset, MN) made 43 saves on the way to her sixth win of the season.

With the win Concordia inches closer to the top four in the conference, and improves to 7-6 in league play and 9-6 overall. St. Kate's falls to 7-4 and 10-5-1. The two teams finish the series tomorrow at 1:00 at Drake Arena.
