STUDIO ART:
PAINTING

Courses in Painting include Painting (Art 320), Intermediate Painting (Art 402), Special Studies in Painting (Art 480), and Senior Project in Painting (Art 420). Independent Study in Painting is also available by arrangement with instructor. Introductory Painting (Art 320), offered each semester, focuses upon oil painting on canvas and panel. The Painting studio, located on the second floor of the Olin Building, is 48 feet in length and 1100+ square feet in area, and well lit by warm, balanced lights. Speaking of illuminating and balanced: Courses are primarily taught by David Boggs, who holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the School of Art and Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
